hen promoting a product, really
sell it! Although the page title needs to grab attention
and you need to focus your visitor on the main points of the product,
it is more likely to be sold if you put in the time and effort to go into
detail about the benefits of owning the product or service.
This is particularly true when a visitor is shopping
for an information product. If the item seems to meet their
needs then questions will arise as they read your copy.
The product detail page needs to answer those questions,
if the page is achieving this then the visitor will spend longer and become more
interested. This in turn leads to desire, now its time to give them justification
as to why now is the best time to buy.
If the page lets them go without a fight the chance of a return visit
is minimal so in all probablilty the sale is lost.
I recommend a largish
picture of the product (which can be enlarged still further).
In addition I would include supporting pictures,
editor or customer reviews (don't include the
bad ones though). Balanced reviews are
best, and full-length descriptions of the product
with easy access to your buy button all help.
